Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.
This incident is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a top government figure has encountered technical problems.
Months ago, a American military jet transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to Washington DC after encountering a technical issue.
