Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
