Edwards as well as O'Neil Among Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early names under consideration to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend following the team's ten-game without a victory beginning to the top-flight campaign.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have previous links to the team - are part of the names to be evaluated by the club leadership.

Edwards is presently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a potential hurdle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton Town head coach - who played more than 100 of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a leading contender for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys support from the club board as they begin the process of hiring a fresh manager.

O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise candidate, although he would be a shock appointment considering he was sacked by the club in December last year.

The former West Ham player is out of work meaning the club would not need to provide any buyout fee.
