FC Barcelona to Host First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
