Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
