Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
