Three people have been killed and no fewer than nine people got hurt in Ukraine's latest attack on the border territory of Russia of Belgorod, as reported by regional authorities.

The fatalities occurred following a strike on the Maslova Pristan settlement in the early hours of Wednesday, officials said. Rescue personnel were continuing to search for people feared trapped under rubble.

This marks the third straight day that Ukrainian forces have attacked the territory, leaving thousands of people experiencing blackouts and at least two other people fatally injured.

Wave of Assaults Result in Destruction

Wednesday's series of aerial assaults harmed houses, vehicles and energy systems in various areas of Belgorod, per information from official statements.

Authorities shared photographs from Maslova Pristan depicting a sports centre with its building components blown apart, and stated that emergency personnel were clearing debris and examining the harm.

In the nearby town of Moshchenoye, six people - involving a young person - sustained injuries when missile and drone targeted transportation, while a man was hurt when a car was hit in Masychevo.

Energy Disruptions Impact Numerous

The strikes follow 48 hours of comparable strikes that have caused blackouts and structural damage in Belgorod city and nearby regions.

Close to 40K individuals were influenced by energy disruptions across various communities, as reported by official statements.

Broader Context of Warfare

Ukraine has dramatically increased the quantity of strikes targeting Russia's fuel processing facilities in the last several months, leading to gasoline scarcities and expense hikes in various areas of Russia.
