Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
